Do I need planning permission for my Greenacre log cabin?

18 August 2011

It is a common question; do I need planning permission to construct the garden building I am buying. The answer to this is always check with your council because they have different rules and regulations for each area that you live in.

What we can confirm is that our range of Greenacre Log Cabins all meet the height regulation for every council so it is simply the distance between you and your neighbours gardens that you have to ensure is within the permitted distance.

Without planning permission you are at risk from having your building being taken down and this is never a pleasant experience after either having paid money for it to be erected or spending your entire weekend grafting. It is important to remember that there is not just planning permission for the height of your garden building but the distance your garden building is away from your neighbour’s gardens.
